The children of Delft are now much wiser about waste after a day of fun and learning with the City’s Public Education and Awareness Team, and the anti-litter mascot, Bingo. This forms part of the Delft Library’s holiday programme for kids. 

As part of the #SpringCleanCT campaign, Bingo and the team are maintaining a focus on the dangers of litter and dumping, and the importance of recycling to reduce waste. As such the team jumped at the opportunity to participate in this holiday programme and to engage with the kids. 

‘It was beautiful to see the youngsters get excited about keeping their City clean and recycling. They clearly understand intuitively, even at their young age, that preventing litter and reducing waste are important. Too many residents in our city seem to have lost sight of this reality somewhere along the way. I am hopeful that with interventions like this we can keep the next generation motivated. If we all work together, we can create more positive spaces for future generations to thrive,’ said Alderman Twigg. 

The #SpringCleanCT campaign aims to mobilise residents against littering and dumping, either by organising community clean-ups in your area or reporting offenders. There is even a cash reward for information that leads to an offender being convicted. 

If you would like to report dumping, please use the City’s 24-hour toll-free number (0800 110077) for illegal dumping tip-offs. If your tip-off leads to an arrest you will be eligible for a reward.
